The Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Children’s Fiesta is celebrating its 15th year of giving back on Saturday at the Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther.
MARY ESTHER – The spirit of giving back to the community will be on full display when the 15th Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Children’s Fiesta comes to Santa Rosa Mall on Sunday.
The event is celebrating its "Quinceanera" year, according to its organizers, and is still in need of more toys despite having already spent $2,000 for items that will be given to local children who will be coming out to partake in the festivities.
The event will be from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. for families with children with special needs, and then from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. for the general public. The mall is located at 300 Mary Esther Boulevard and 12 local non-profits are teaming up for the event, which also features games and activities for the children.
The event was held at the Boys and Girls Club of the Emerald Coast from 2005-2012 and served more than 2,600 children and their families in that time. The first organizers of the event were the ones who established the tradition of always starting the event with the first hour dedicated to special needs families.
In 2012, the organizers formed the non-profit United for a Good Cause, and as the event grew in size and popularity, it needed more space. In 2018, the event was moved to the Santa Rosa Mall for the first time.
Since 2012, approximately 7,000 more children have benefited.
Anyone who wants more details on how to donate to the event can find a donor’s packet on the organization’s website, unitedforagoodcause.org, call David Triana at 850-368-3505 or e-mail the event organizers at email@example.com.
