FORT WALTON BEACH — The new pickleball courts at Jet Holmes Park officially opened Thursday.
Members of the City Council, city staff and local pickleball enthusiasts gathered at the renovated park for a ribbon cutting, according to an email from Doug public information officer for the City of Fort Walton Beach.
Mayor Dick Rynearson thanked the council, staff and community for supporting the project.
Recreation & Cultural Services Director Jeff Peters recognized staff members and partners for their efforts to revitalize the park.
Community Development Block Grant funding of approximately $30,000 was used to turn the two existing, aging and underutilized tennis courts into six pickleball courts.
The basketball court were also renovated.
