NICEVILLE — Residents of the Water Oaks neighborhood in Niceville held a boat parade on nearby Boggy Bayou last Saturday evening.
Onlookers from docks, parks and parking lots waved and cheered as 12 boats flying the American flag made their way past, projecting a message of "America Strong" against the coronavirus epidemic.

Water Oaks resident Sally Yancey took part in the parade with her husband and grandson aboard their 27-foot sailboat.

"At a time when we are all home struggling with the stay-at-home order, it was a breath of fresh air to participate in this parade of boats," said Yancey. "For a moment we were all back to place called normalcy."
