Lamar was born in Bogart, GA to William Howard and Myrtle (Lowe) Doster. A 1951 graduate of Bogart High School. Joined the USAF in 1954 and spent many tours overseas. His last assignment was Senior Enlisted Advisor at Hurlburt Field FL. Lamar was a proud member of the Air Commando Association and Hurlburt Field Chiefs Group. He retired after 31 years of serving his country. He was also a proud member of VFW Post 7674, The American Legion, Eagles and Elks clubs.
Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Dorothy (Doster) Turner, Ann (Doster) Barber, Carolyn (Doster/Heard) Shannon and brother, Donald E. Doster.
Lamar is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Gloria (Crance) Doster, son Ronald W. (Cindy) Doster and two grandsons Nicholas Christian and Christopher Nathaniel Doster as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd NW, Fort Walton Beach FL on Monday January 16, 2023, from 1 to 2 PM with service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Project Pa Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675- 8516 or Tunnel To Towers 2361 Hylan Blvd Staten Island NY 10306.
