‘BAGHDADI DEAD!’ should have been the headline.
I am compelled yet again to point out the obvious negative bias and outright animus toward President Trump GateHouse Media and its local minions here in Northwest Florida.
President Trump swore to take out the No. 1 global jihadist in the world, which was accomplished by U.S. forces last weekend.
The headline of the Monday Daily News is "Yellow River Bridge Undergoing Repairs" in bold font while a lame, small headline in light font in the lower right of the front page is, "Trump says US forces cornered IS leader" with three paragraphs under it with the remainder relegated to Page A11.
Then, as usual, the undeniable Trump victory is besmirched in the last paragraph of the article by stating an outright lie that his presidency is at its lowest point due to the sham Soviet-style secret witch hunt impeachment attempt by Nadler and Schiff. Then, it goes on to say he is being widely criticized for pulling troops out of Syria when there is now a ceasefire and safe zone in place.
Promises made, promises kept, and another victory for President Trump. Gatehouse and its regional staff are unethical and guilty of flagrant abuse of the obligation to provide an unbiased forum for news in Northwest Florida as our only newspaper.
You need to be held accountable and have not heard the last of this.
Mike Goleno, Fort Walton Beach
