The South Walton Seahawks edged out the visiting Northview Chiefs 2-1 in a 1A District 3 girls softball contest Tuesday night.
South Walton junior Alyssa Selvey went the distance in the pitching circle for a one-hitter and 15 strike outs against the Chiefs.
After six innings of play, the game was tied at 1-1.
South Walton freshman Adrienne Crawley ripped a triple and then sophomore Makena Kimball connected to score Crawley for a walk-off hit to clinch the win.
“It was a great win for our ladies, who have been a little off the mark lately,” said South Walton Coach Bob Hartness. “They made some diving plays tonight … did what they needed to do.”
With the win, the Seahawks moved to 9-4 overall and 5-3 in district play.
On Friday, the Lady Seahawks were scheduled to play the Baker Gators at 5 p.m. in another district contest. South Walton will travel to Mosley in Lynn Haven on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
