Baker 60, Northview 21

The Gator girls’ basketball team wins again.

After starting the season 0-1, Baker has reeled off three straight victories. Izzy Cain and Kashira Casey tied for the team lead in points with 13 apiece. Casey added three rebounds, two steals and five assists.

Up next, the Gators hit the road to play Freeport at 6:45 p.m. Monday.

Paxton 44, Central 18

After losing three games in a row, Paxton has reeled off two straight wins.

After going scoreless in the first quarter, Hailee Bryan went off, scoring a team-high 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

The Bobcats move to 3-3 and play Laurel Hill at 6 p.m. Saturday.


Boys Basketball

Choctaw 83, Navarre 43

The Indians made quick work of the Raiders Thursday night in Navarre for their fourth win in a row to start the season.

Josh Williams led the team with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, adding five rebounds and five assists. Close behind, Diante Smith and Chris McGaughy added 13 points each. Forward Aron Scott was two points shy of a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points.

Navarre's second straight loss drops the Raiders to 2-3 to begin the year. They play the Vikings at 7 p.m. Friday in Fort Walton Beach.

The Indians hit the road to play the Eagles in Niceville at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Laurel Hill 53, Graceville 37

Sam Durm led the Hoboes to victory on the road, scoring 24 points.

Laurel Hill moves to 3-2 after its third straight victory. The Hoboes host Paxton on Saturday after the conclusion of the JV and varsity girls’ teams play at 5 p.m.

Freeport 48, Bozeman 31

The Bulldogs topped the Bucks on the road for their second straight win.

Case Woodard led the team with 17 points, and Wesley Canaday added 12.

Freeport hosts Red Level at 6:30 p.m. Friday.


Girls Soccer

Monteverde Academy 4, Navarre 1

The Raiders drop to 7-1-3 after a loss Thursday.

Jessika Seward and Emily Depersio each had two goals scored against them, saving four. Kileigh Whited scored Navarre's only goal unassisted in the 52nd minute.

Up next, Navarre hits the road to play Jacksonville Bolles at 9 p.m. Friday.

Fort Walton Beach 14, Pine Forest 0

The Vikings (8-2, 6-1 district) made quick work of Pensacola Pine Forest in a mercy rule shortened 14-0 rain soaked win Thursday night.

Five Vikings found the back of the net. Kaylah Butterworth had four goals, Elaina Davies and Emma Daldine each had three goals, and Lauren Mai and Taylor Kanny had two goals each. Although goalie Madison Phillips didn't have a save, she did have an assist on her only goal kick of the night.

The Vikings next face district rival Choctaw on Monday night.
