Destin's Parks and Recreation Department recently recognized Sam Taylor GMC Cadillac for many years of supporting the city's football program.

Since the fall of 2011, the car dealership, which is located at 329 Miracle Strip Parkway in Fort Walton Beach, has been a sponsor for the city’s recreational football program. Every season, they donate $500 and provide supplies like tackling dummies, footballs, sideline markers and other equipment.

“Partnerships like this allow the city to provide really good programs at a reasonable price,” said Doug Rainer, the city’s spokesman. “On top of giving $500, they provide a lot of the equipment that players use on a daily basis.”

Sam Taylor GMC Cadillac’s General Manager Joe Genovese said donations like these are possible through a partnership with Buick GMC corporate sponsorship.

“It gives us great exposure and shows how we are giving back to the community,” Genovese said. “GMC has done a really good job in helping us build good partnerships with the city of Destin.”

Genovese said Destin is a great place for sports like football and the dealership always looks forward on donating sports equipment before the season starts.

“It feels great giving back to the community and I look forward to continuing this good relationship with Destin,” he said.
