Sandestin resort enhances golf experience
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort recently announced the arrival of 235 new 2018 Precedent i3 Club Cars equipped with the Visage GPS system.
“Sandestin is now offering an improved golfer experience with our new fleet of 2018 Club Cars,” said Rick Hileman, director of golf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. “Golfers will enjoy the very latest in GPS technology providing them with accurate yardage for every shot. The new cars are also equipped with USB ports to keep your phone or Bluetooth speaker charged during your round.”
The 2018 Club Car Precedent i3 Features include:
Electronic scorecard that golfers can email to themselves and others.
GPS zone messaging that can be set to promote pro shop deals, food and beverage sales, and more.
Key vehicle information — check current mileage or amp hours, battery status and more on a single car or the entire fleet from the pro shop or a smartphone anywhere.
Car tracking, car control, tournament software, and 3D flyovers.
System allows staff to set no-drive zones to protect greens, tees and bunkers, cart path-only parameters, broadcast real-time leaderboards in every car, monitor pace-of-play, and more.
A dual port USB is available for electric models. The new USB port operates on 48 volts, provides full speed charging to essentially all USB-charged devices including tablets, and integrates seamlessly into the dash.
In addition to the 235 fleet, the courses now feature four passenger golf cars available for daily use. The special Club Car vehicles allow four people to ride in the same vehicle and attach up to four golf bags. Sandestin is the first location in Northwest Florida to use the larger golf cars for daily operations. The golf cars will be available for use at Sandestin’s Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club and The Links Golf Club.
“This option will be great for families with one adult and two children who previously could not share a two passenger golf car,” said Hileman. “This is also a great option for groups and buddy trips that have four players and want to share the riding and playing experience together versus being spread out on every hole.”
The Club Car four passenger golf cars are part of the company’s Precedent 4Fun program. The 4Fun was designed in conjunction with the PGA of America and Get Golf Ready, the industry’s grow-the-game program designed to attract new people to the game and bring former golfers back to the sport. It’s great for couples, families, women’s groups and business outings.
