Special to The Log

Americans have always been infatuated with keeping up with the Jones’ as part of their pursuit of the American dream.

Today keeping up with the Jones’ means having the latest technology at your disposal. This means to help Americans keep up with the Jones’ and achieve the American dream, Realtors need to be keeping up with and utilizing all the latest technologies.

Mark Lesswing, chief technology officer for the National Association of Realtors, is coming to the Emerald Coast to help area Realtors take advantage of the latest technology trends.

He will speak to members of ECAR at 11 a.m. July 23 at the Hilton at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Spa.

Lesswing will focus on mobile technology and how the transition to mobile technology is one every Realtor needs to make.

“Mobile causes a shift in thinking, not an incremental adjustment,” Lesswing said. “Mobile changes major aspects of consumer engagement including search, speed and presentation.”

He added, everything Realtors know about marketing on the web is going to change.

Lesswing will also be discussing the need to protect real estate listing content both from an ownership and distribution standpoint.
