‘LeCiel’ now ‘Bayside at Sandestin’

Returning to its original roots, the condominium building now known as “LeCiel” has changed its brand identity name to “Bayside at Sandestin.” Previously known as the Bayside Inn for many years since it was originally built in 1985, the building underwent a major renovation in 2012 and rebranded itself under the LeCiel (LeCiel meaning “the sky” in French) moniker to portray its South Beach-esque styling.
While the building is proud of that renovation, as well as the many other subsequent upgrades and changes, the name still just never felt “quite right.” After much consideration with unit owners and management, the association felt the name didn’t reflect some of the building’s best attributes: being positioned directly on the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay (literally the water is less than 10’ from the building) and being located in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, one of the premiere resorts in Northwest Florida.
The name change became effective Oct. 1, along with new logo and identity graphics that best suit the feel and style of the building, its owners, and the thousands of guests that come through its doors each year.
Tom Hendricks, an original owner since 1985 and a current member of the Board of Directors, said, “It’s like coming home again: to see that familiar name and know it speaks best to who we are and what we are, is a great thing to see happen. As the association is formally incorporated as Bayside at Sandestin Condominium Association, Inc., this just makes so much more sense for our building in terms of brand identity and legal identity.”
This rebranding comes along with other familiar names resurfacing recently such as the beach front restaurant in Sandestin that was once known as “Elephant Walk,” renamed several years ago to “Finz,” has recently renamed itself back to “Elephant Walk.”
Bayside at Sandestin Condominium Association, Inc. is an eight-story, 175-unit condominium building consisting of 159 studio efficiency units and 16 one-bedroom suite units. The building sits directly on the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay on the western side of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort — perfectly positioned to capture magnificent 180-degree views of the Bay, with the Village at Baytowne Wharf and Sandestin Marina to the east and Linkside Golf Course to the west and south. The beach is a short ride away on the Resort’s Tram Service. Most units are available for either short term or long term rentals through various local rental agencies, such as Sandestin Resort, Ocean Reef Rentals, Beachview Vacation Rentals, Destin Memories, and Coastline Luxury Rentals, as well as sites like VRBO.com.
