Five businesses slated for Destin retail center

Five new businesses will soon be opening in the Plantation Commons retail shopping center located at 4495 Commons Drive. Current anchor stores, The Fresh Market, Marshall’s, Destin Health and Fitness Club and HomeGoods will soon see another anchor store join the ranks with Tuesday Morning scheduled to open by late summer.
“Home goods and Tuesday Morning together will provide a great home-furnishing area, great for a market like Destin with the vacation rentals and condos,” said Kristina O’Keefe head of leasing for Continental Realty Corporation, the company that manages the property.
O’Keefe said that since acquiring the property in October of 2013, the Baltimore-based real estate company, has leased more than 82 percent of its retail space to six new tenants in the center.
Two businesses, oriental restaurant, Jasmine Thai, and children’s clothing boutique, Pink N Blue Avenue opened their doors last year with four additional businesses expected to open by mid-2015.
“We think they will be great compliments to the current tenants,” O’Keefe said of the four leased stores. “They are all locally owned and operated, as we ourselves are a family owned and operated company here in Baltimore. We typically lease to local entrepreneurs, and regional businesses that want to expand the community.”
The stores set to open this summer include interior design and home furnishings store Coast, new to the market restaurant Everkrisp, athletic apparel store LexyLeah and dance studio Rise Dance Center.
“We are pretty close to being fully occupied,” said O’Keefe. “A few businesses we are targeting for our final spots include men’s and women’s apparel, shoe stores, a hair salon, a day spa, and some great local and regional businesses that will serve the community and the needs there.”
