Destin Garden Club to visit Festival of Flowers

The World of Flowers continues to be one of the most eagerly anticipated features of the Festival of Flowers. The displays of fresh-cut flowers from domestic and international growers are enhanced by the creative use of decorative props.

The Destin Garden Club will host a bus trip to the Mobile Festival of Flowers March 26. The cost is $35 which includes the bus ride and admission to the event. Participants will be on their own for lunch to dine at one of the restaurants on the premises.

Good Times Tour bus (seating 50 people) will depart promptly at 8 a.m. from The Boardwalk, 1030 Miracle Strip Parkway NE, in Fort Walton Beach. Return expected to be at approximately 4 p.m.

A check guarantees your seat and should be made out to Destin Garden Club and sent to: Kathy Foster, 849 Tarpon Drive, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548.

Day includes unusual plants, hard-to-find tools and gardening items, interesting speakers, and inspirational ideas for plantings, etc.

Wear comfortable shoes. Vendors carry purchases to the loading area where buses depart. You may wish to take boxes with your name on them to hold purchases in the bottom of the bus for the ride home.

Only 50 seats will be sold allowing the back seats to hold trees, tall plants and large garden art. Details at www.festivalofflowers.com.
