IAC awards for Hilton Sandestin Beach
Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa and advertising agency, Miles, are the recipients of two awards for excellence in online advertising — a 2015 Internet Advertising Competition Best of Industry award in the Best Hotel and Lodging Email Message category, and a SilverADDY award from the adFed Suncoast in the Digital Advertising category.
The13th annual Internet Advertising Competition honors excellence in online advertising and recognizes those responsible for the best in Internet marketing. The IAC Awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising.
More than 118 Professional ADDY Awards were presented to the AdFed Suncoast board from creative agencies and businesses in Southwest Florida. AdFed Suncoast is a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s Fourth District, which consists of nearly 1,500 members in 23 local chapters throughout Florida and the Caribbean.

Hilton Sandestin Beach’s multimedia marketing agency, Sarasota-based Miles, submitted the redesigned hotel eNewsletter to the Internet Advertising Competition which used a new color palette utilized in all digital and print creative, new imagery taken after the 2014 hotel-wide transformation and incorporated the “That Place” creative campaign. Since the new eNewsletter has been in place, the hotel has seen an increase in click-through rates from four to 12 percent and continues to outperform previous emails by more than double with higher open rates and an average of 8.10 percent of the email’s opened delivering website visitors. Entrees were judged using the criteria of creativity, innovation, impact, design, copywriting, use of the medium and memorability.
For the ADDYs, Miles presented interactive banner ads which promoted seasonal savings. These ad placements increased conversion by 23 percent and brought the cost per click (CPC) down from $4.01 to $1.24.
Miles was also recognized by the Web Marketing Association, host of the Internet Advertising Competition, as one of the nine Outstanding Advertising Developers for winning six or more awards as an agency. They also received 12 total ADDYs from the AdFed Suncoast.
