Tax bill deadline reminder – easy payment options – holiday hours

The final day to receive a 4% early payment discount on property taxes is Nov. 30. Because many will be taking advantage of the early payment discount, Tax Collector Ben Anderson wants to remind customers of the many ways to get those payments in before the deadline.

Anderson says, “For customers paying by check, we have several convenient payment options to help them get in and out of our Office within only a few minutes. For the convenience of our customers, we will have staff set up in the lobby of most of our branch offices next Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 24 and 25). Then, after the holiday weekend, we’ll be back in the lobbies to receive payments on Monday, Nov. 30. This keeps those who are dropping off property tax payments from having to stand in line with those conducting other transactions. As a reminder, we encourage customers to Do Business Online, Not In Line.” When paying online at www.OkaloosaTax.com, E-check is free."

Payment methods for the 4% early payment discount are as follows:

• Drop Box – outside each branch

• Lobby – staff staged to receive check payments in Shalimar, Crestview, Destin and Niceville

• Online – use the free E-check option

• Mail – tax payments must be postmarked by November 30th to receive the 4% discount.
