Abbott joins Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty

Bill Abbott, one of Northwest Florida’s most experienced real estate brokers since 1976, has joined Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, which is co-owned and operated by his son, Chris Abbott.
According to Chris, this is a dream come true for both men.
“When the opportunity presented itself for my dad to join Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, I couldn’t help feeling humbled that my mentor growing up would now be working side by side with me in the real estate business,” Chris said. “His success and reputation in the industry is second to none, and I feel honored he accepted our invitation to join the Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty family. We look for-ward to his continued success and career with us.”
Blake Morar, broker and co-owner of Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, agreed.
“Bill’s 40 years of real estate experience in our local market are unmatched,” Morar said. “He is truly one of our area’s top agents, and I learn something every time I talk with him. It is an honor to have Bill with our professional family.”
Growing up in Fort Walton Beach and Destin in the 1950s and 1960s, Bill at-tended Husson College in Bangor, Maine, receiving a degree in business administration. After serving in the military, Bill began a career in group insurance in Boston, before co-managing the New York office of Union Mutual Life Insurance Company.
In 1975, he moved back to Florida, and along with his brother and father, he co-founded Abbott Realty and Abbott Resorts, where he served as president and chairman. With their commitment to integrity, excellence and attention to detail, as well as top customer service, the companies grew to employ over 1,000 people, making it the largest employer in Destin as well as the biggest vacation property management company in the southeast. In 1998, the company was sold to ResortQuest, where he remained as a consultant and served as a board member.
As a recipient of countless awards and several top designations, including serving as governor appointee for the Florida Advisory Committee on Condominiums, honored as Business of the Year, Businessman of the Year and Okaloosa County Economic Development Council Above & Beyond Award just to name a few, Bill is eager to continue his career in the real estate industry and give his clients the top customer service he is well known for.
