World Impact Real Estate has sponsored four nursing students since May 2014 — P. Nithya, D. Jenciya, Kala M. and Poornima Sekar. The most recent graduate of the program is Jenciya Dhanapal.

Nursing students are chosen based on their economic background and high school academic performance. They must have passed the 10th grade. Most students are between 15 and 45 years of age and are referred by pastors or recommended through service clubs like Rotary.

The two-year program is provided at Sharon Community College on India Gospel League’s Sharon Gardens campus in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The program also includes a one-year internship at a local hospital to give the students the kind of hands-on experience needed to be effective in medical work. The curriculum is framed and accredited by the Tamil Nadu State Open University and Bharat Samaj, the Nation Development Agency of the Indian government, the affiliating authorities for the nursing program.

Students receive a diploma of health assistant from Tamil Nadu State Open University and a certificate from the participating hospital where they did their practical internship.

Sharon Community College has established a partnership network with hospitals and clinical laboratories. After completion of their internship, 100 percent of the students receive job placement with a regular salary, as demand for these students is high. Since 1999, more than 700 nursing students have successfully graduated.

World Impact Real Estate is very proud to be among the sponsors of this very worthwhile program.
