The Northwest Florida Ballet will present the magic of The Nutcracker, where dolls come to life and Clara travels to the Kingdom of the Sweets, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. This ballet has been a favorite for families since 1892 when Marius Petipa, the senior ballet master of the Russian Imperial Ballet, commissioned Tchaikovsky to compose a full-length ballet based on the E. T. A. Hoffman story. In this magical production audiences are sure to delight in the performances of principal guest artists Kathleen Breen Combes and Yury Yanowsky of Boston Ballet dancing alongside international guest artists and the NFB Corp de Ballets.
