Gumbo Contest/Silent Auction
DESTIN – The Destin History & Fishing Museum’s annual Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction Fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Destin Community Center. Winter Guest Concert Series
DESTIN – All winter guests and locals are invited to enjoy a performance from Ballet Conservatory from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 27 at HarborWalk Village.
Great Night of Methodist Singing
NICEVILLE – The Great Night of Singing Jan. 27 features a large combined choir of approximately 230 voices, smaller vocal ensembles, and orchestra on the Mainstage at Mattie Kelly Arts Center. Even the audience gets to sing. This very popular and unique event is a combined effort of nine area United Methodist Churches — Destin UMC, First UMC of Crestview, First UMC of Fort Walton Beach, Mary Esther UMC, Navarre UMC, Niceville UMC, Shalimar UMC, St. Mark UMC, and Trinity UMC. No admission charge and the public is invited.
Snowbird Movie Matinees
DESTIN Â–The Destin Library will host a free movie matinee, Â“Trouble with the Curve,Â” for winter visitors at 2 p.m. Jan 30. Seating limited to 30 on a firstâ€come, firstâ€serve basis. Call 837-8572.
NICEVILLE – The Tony Award winning production of HAIR, a joyous celebration of youth and a poignant journey through a tumultuous 1960’s America, begins at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College, Mainstage. Baytowne on Ice
SANDESTIN – The ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf will be open through Jan. 31 at the Apex Broadcasting Skating Pavilion. For $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is $2. The first hour of each day is reserved for "kids skate" for youth 12 and under. Call 816-682-1003 for times and special skating packages.
Tasting of Champions
SANDESTIN – The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation’s Tasting of Champions to benefit children in need in Northwest Florida will be held from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 1 in the Coral Ballroom at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf & Beach Resort. NICEVILLE – Soka Gakkai International presents The Century of Women, a national traveling exhibit, in both galleries at the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center through Feb. 1. FORT WALTON BEACH – The Arts and Design Society is inviting artists across the Southeast to submit works for the 21st Southeast Regional Juried Fine Arts Exhibition, hosted by Northwest Florida State College.
