Call to artists for 18th annual Festival of the Arts

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) has announced the Festival of the Arts (formerly the Destin Festival of the Arts) is relocating from Henderson Beach State Park to its permanent home at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive West in Destin, and will to be held on Oct. 26th and 27.

As MKAF turns 18 in 2013 it marks a cultural milestone with the development of the Dugas Pavilion & Village Green, the centerpiece of the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. The newly developed festival site rests on 6.76 acres of spacious green space to accommodate artist booths for this regional fine art and music festival. 

Artist applications and poster competition entries are now being accepted for the 18th Annual Festival of the Arts.  Festival space is limited up to 110 artists competing for $9,000 in cash awards. Artist entry fees include $30 non-refundable jury fee and $195 booth fee. The winning design for the official poster competition will become the signature artwork reproduced on festival T-shirts, posters, marketing collateral, specialty merchandise and prominently displayed on the cover of the official festival guide with over 30,000 distribution. A $400 cash prize is awarded to the winning artist’s design. Artist and poster application deadline is June 21.
