Football on the Harbor: Boat up to the “dive-in” football game Oct. 12 in the Destin harbor and watch the game on the 23’ screen on the water. Tailgate begins at 5 p.m. with kick-off, Alabama vs. Kentucky, at 6 p.m. Food and beverages available for purchase on Boogies barge.

Star Gazing by the Shore: Telescopes for public viewing of the night sky will be set up from 4-10 p.m. Oct. 12 at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin. Program included in park admission fee. Call 837-7550.

Duck Regatta: The third annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 12 in the Events Plaza at Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin with children’s activities including a scavenger hunt and face painting. The Duck Regatta begins at 1 p.m.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s: The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s begins at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 12 at the Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. For information, call 225-0680 or email pcowley@alz.org.

Dog Daze: The annual day of activities for canines and their families begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 12 when the ribbon is cut on the new Fort Walton Beach Dog Park at Liza Jackson Park, 138 Miracle Strip Parkway SW. Events include doggie yoga, pet parade, costume contest, weiner races, and more. Suggested donation is $3 per pet. 

This Is The 60s: Travel back in time when this national touring concert hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. A $50 ticket includes a 50th Anniversary Gala Reception from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Art Galleries prior to the show plus VIP reserved seating for the show. Auditions: The talent and entertainment team of the soon to open Margaritaville at HarborWalkVillage will hold auditions for bands, duos, and solo acoustic performers Oct. 13-15. Fine Arts Show: The 30th Northwest Florida Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show takes place from 12-6 p.m. Oct. 12 at the C.H. Bull Rigdon Fairgrounds. High school and middle school art will be a special feature. Call 582-1329.

Film series: The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor the free movie “Veronica Guerin” at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Library. Films are unrated and directed toward mature audiences. Seating limited to 30 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wednesday Night Concerts: The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin hosts a free concert with Blue Ribbon Healers from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Events Plaza.

Grand Opening: A celebration and ribbon cutting will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 16 with cocktails, appetizers and live music at Cabana Café’s newest location at Sundestin Beach Resort & Hotel, 1040 U.S. 98 across from Big Kahuna’s in Destin.

Americana Under The Stars: Scott and Michele Daliez perform from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 17 in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Open mic begins at 6 p.m. Bring a chair and beverage. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.

Mullet Festival: The 37th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival opens at noon Oct. 18, 9 a.m. Oct. 19 and 10 a.m. Oct. 20 with arts and crafts, carnival rides, attractions and booths. Entertainment includes country music legend Vince Gill and more. Admission is $10 Friday and Sunday and before 5 on Saturday. From 5 p.m. to close Saturday is $15. Beer Festival: The Sixth Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival is Oct. 18 and 19 throughout the Village. The festival features 40 on-site craft brewers, more than 200 domestic and international beers, seminars and samplings and live music. Visit baytownewharfbeerfestival.com for tickets.

Best of the Emerald Coast: The 2013 winners for the 13th annual 2013 Best of the Emerald Coast will be on display from 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin along the main street of the center. Evening includes fun, fashion and entertainment, a silent auction and live music. Admission is $30/person for advance tickets and $40/day of the event and benefits Junior League of the Emerald Coast.
