David Cook displays his flower creations on the beach at June White Decker Park.

David Cook from Minneapolis, Minn., stopped through Destin with his traveling pop-art show he dubbed, "Flower Bombing." The bright flowers and butterflies are constructed entirely of Shur-Tech Duck duct tape, cardboard, wire and wooden dowels. "I do it just to make people happy," he said, noting that these installations are free and just for viewers’ enjoyment. Cook, traveling through Destin en-route to Memphis Tenn., said he hopes to bring his cheery friends to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital next. "The charities he does are so important," said Cook's close friend Janet Martin. "To bring smiles to people who are suffering." Cook has been flower bombing for a year and a half now, and says he drew his inspiration for the work from his two year walk across Spain's Camino Santiago. The installation was up at Destin's June White Decker Park Friday morning.
