American Legion

Window display

During July, the Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach, presents the works of of Sherry Cooler, who works in clay and ceramics, in the studio windows facing First Street.

Dinner theater

Fat Tuesday Parade

HarborWalk Village becomes “The Big Easy” from 6-10 p.m. every Tuesday with floats, beads and lots of swag, a performance by the Village Brass Band on the main stage, and a fire dancing show. Event is free.

Wednesday Night Concert Series: A free concert with Adam Doleac Band from 7-9 p.m. June 11 in the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Call 267-8186.

Concerts in the Village

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s 19th Annual Concerts in the Village presents Alter Eagles, a tribute to the Eagles, at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Dugas Pavilion at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin. Bring a chair, picnic and wine or purchase meal prepared on-site. Bottled water and soft drinks available with proceeds to benefit the MKAF’s cultural and education mission. Admission is $10/adult and children under 12 and MKAF members are free. Call 650-2226.

Red, White and Blue Celebration

The Red, White and Blue Celebration at HarborWalk Village, a weekly honoring of a local hero, is held from 6-10 p.m. Thursdays. Enjoy live entertainment, free kid’s crafts and face painting, a WWII replica flyover and fireworks over the harbor at 9 p.m.

Dancing with Desire

Dance champions seen on the hit series “Dancing with the Stars” will perform at a star-studded event at 7 p.m. June 19 on stage at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. The performance is presented by Fred Astaire Dance Studio-Fort Walton Beach. Ticket prices are $50 for general admission, and $100 for VIP, which includes preferred seating, access to the stars at the cast post party, and more. All proceeds benefit Horizons-The Arc of The Emerald Coast, to help provide services to children and adults with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Star gazing

Henderson Beach State Park will host a star gazing program from 5-10 p.m. June 20. Telescopes will be available for public viewing of star clusters, planets, and galaxies. Prior to sunset, telescopes will be equipped for safe viewing of the sun. All those attending should arrive prior to sunset. Call 837-7550 for sunset time. 

Starlight Ballet

The NWF Ballet presents a free mixed repertory performance at 7 p.m. June 21 in Rosemary Beach with scenes from the 2nd Act of Swan Lake as well as an eclectic mix of new contemporary pieces.  

Gulf Jazz Society

Singer and pianist David Seering will perform a program of the songs of the Great American Songbook, which includes selections from the music associated with Johnny Mercer, Harry Connick Jr., Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber, from 6:30-9 p.m. June 23 at The Place in Panama City. Seering will be accompanied by bassist Steve Gilmore and stride and ragtime pianist Bobby van Deusen. HendersonBeach

Learn all about the animals when Henderson Beach State Park hosts the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge staff and their animal ambassadors from 11:30 a.m. to noon June 26. Bring a camera.  Program included in the park admission fee. Call 837-7550.

Art in the Park

Free event begins at 2 p.m. June 28 in the Fort Walton Beach Landing Park with an art exhibition and a preview of Spamalot. Food vendors will be on site. At sundown, the NWF Ballet presents a mixed repertory performance with scenes from the 2nd Act of Swan Lake as well as an eclectic mix of new contemporary pieces.  

Spamalot

The Northwest Florida State College Fine & Performing Arts Division presents Monty Python’s Spamalot with performances at 7:30 p.m. July 16, 17, 18 and 19. Tickets go on sale May 1 at 729-6000 or at www.MattieKellyArtsCenter.org and are $25/adults and $20/youth ages 18 and younger.

A Continuous Mark: Huguette May and Kathleen Elliot, a major touring exhibition, runs through July 31 in the Holzhauer Gallery at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries in Niceville.
