The first ever “Around-The-Bay” Jet Ski Classic FudPoker Run will be held July 19 on Choctawhatchee Bay. The event, presented by Fudpucker’s Beachside and Grill of Okaloosa Island, will benefit Children in Crisis and the Okaloosa County Sheriff Star Charities. Event follows a 40-mile course starting at Fudpuckers on Okaloosa Island with stops to include Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Bluewater Bay, Destin and ending back at Fudpuckers on Okaloosa Island. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Fudpucker’s Okaloosa Island. Cost is $30/captain and includes a free T-shirt/ Riders are $10 each. Prizes will be awarded. 

Rock the Docks

Enjoy an open air free concert with the Forest Williams Band from 7-9 p.m. July 19 on the main stage at HarborWalk Village, with live music at seven venues, clubs and restaurants during the evening. Concerts are held every Saturday during the summer.

ArtWalk on the Harbor

Local and regional artists and vendors display their work at ArtWalk on the Harbor from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20 from HarborWalk Village to AJ’s. The event is free. Next event Aug. 17.

Dinner theater

Act4Murder and Crab Island Cantina present “Decked Out for Death” at 7:30 p.m. July 20 at 2 Harbor Blvd. #100. Seating at 7 p.m. Price is $49.95/adults and $24.95/kids 10 and under, all inclusive. Call 862-2885 for reservations.

Window display

During July, the Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach, presents the works of Sherry Cooler, who works in clay and ceramics, in the studio windows facing First Street.

Fat Tuesday Parade

HarborWalk Village becomes “The Big Easy” at 7 p.m. every Tuesday with floats, beads and lots of swag, a performance by the Village Brass Band on the main stage, and a fire dancing show. Event is free.

Tuesday Night Movies

The Lighthouse Amphitheater at Shoreline Village in Destin hosts free family movies on Tuesday nights. Bring blankets and chairs. Food, drinks and snacks, even hamburgers wine and beer, can be bought before and during the movie just like any other theater. No outside food or drink allowed. Wednesday Night Concert Series

A free concert with The Modern Eldorados from 7-9 p.m. July 23 in the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Call 267-8186.

Red, White and Blue Celebration

The Red, White and Blue Celebration at HarborWalk Village, a weekly honoring of a local hero, is held from 6-10 p.m. Thursdays. Enjoy live entertainment, free kid’s crafts and face painting, a WWII replica flyover and fireworks over the harbor at 9 p.m.

Splash series

Cruise up and anchor your boat for a Cadillac Willy concert from 4-8 p.m. July 26 on the Destin harbor.

Art Exhibit

A Continuous Mark: Huguette May and Kathleen Elliot, a major touring exhibition, runs through July 31 in the Holzhauer Gallery at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries in Niceville.

Remembering Ena

The Arts and Design Society will host a reception, “Remembering Ena,” from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1 at 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach, in honor of long-time member and supporter Ena Fagan who died earlier this year. A display of her work, some in ADSO's permanent collection, some lent by the Fagan family and ADSO members, will be on display. The public is invited. Call 244-1271.

Paddle at the Porch

The Third Paddle at the Porch will take place Aug. 16 in the waters behind The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House in Destin for all ages and skill levels.  The event features one mile and three mile recreational races and a six mile elite race, to be followed by awards, including a $5,000 cash purse. For the 3- and 6-mile races, the cost is $60 before Aug. 16 and $75 on race day.  For the 1-mile race, the cost is $48 before Aug. 16 and $55 on race day.  Registration may be completed on Active.com or download a race brochure from PaddleAtThePorch.com.

Hispanic Fest

Hispanic Fest, a family-oriented, cultural and educational festival, will showcase Hispanic music, folkloric dances, arts and crafts, exhibits, and the flavors and aromas of the cuisine from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. Special appearances by non-Hispanic performers and dance groups will also take place. Proceeds from the event will benefit United for a Good Cause Inc.
