Wednesday Night Concert Series

Guitar Duo
Renowned Swedish guitarist and composer Johannes Möller and Argentinean guitarist Laura Fraticelli will present a Guest Artist Guitar Duo at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Tyler Recital Hall of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. The Recital is free of charge to the public with donations accepted at the door. Seating at the event is on a first-come basis with the doors opening at 7 p.m.
American Legion
Karaoke from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at American Legion Post 296, 311 Main Street in Destin. A POW/MIA Recognition Day Fish Fry by Cajun Ray will be held from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 18. Pizza and hotdogs are sold from 1-8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 837-3818.
Star Gazing by the Shore
A star gazing program will be held from 3-10 p.m. Oct. 17 at Henderson Beach State Park. Several telescopes for public viewing of star clusters, planets, and galaxies will be set up and volunteers will answer questions about the night sky. Also, prior to sunset, their telescopes will be equipped for safe viewing of the sun. The park will close at sunset which is 6:14 p.m. All those attending the star gaze should arrive prior to sunset. Bring a picnic.
Baytowne Beer Fest
The Seventh Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest festival features 40 on-site craft brewers, more than 200 domestic and international beers, seminars and samplings and live music Oct. 17 and 18. Pick up your cards at the Events Plaza Stage for the first ever Beer Bingo from 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Visit merchants to complete a BINGO and a chance to win prizes. The Craft Beer Tasting takes place from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Events Plaza with music by The Owsley Brothers from 2-4 p.m. and Native Run from 4-6 p.m. Visit www.baytownewharfbeerfestival.com for tickets.
Mullet Festival
The enduring formula of top notch entertainment, great seafood, and superior arts and crafts offers all-around family fun at the 38th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival Oct. 17-19 at the intersection of Hwy. 85 N and College Road in Niceville. Ticket prices (including concerts) for ages 12 and over are $10 per day, except for Friday and Saturday after 5 p.m. when the price is $15. Kitty Hawk Kite Festival
Enjoy the sites of kites of all sizes and shapes, including a 100-foot octopus, 80-foot panda and 50-foot gator, being flown over the harbor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18-19 at HarborWalk Village. There will be professional stunt kite flying and demonstrations, RC demos, kite making contests and games for all ages. Festival attendees will be offered freeshuttle boat service from the HarborWalk Village docks behind Pirates Alley to Norriego Point.
Snow White
The Northwest Florida Ballet presents the Brothers Grimm’s “Snow White,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. Purchase tickets at nfballet.org.
Window display
During October, the Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach, presents the art of students in Sherry Cooler’s Story Box classes. Each clay box has its creator’s story carved into the side, as well as embellishments to enhance the story.
Dream Catcher Concert

Fundraiser
A four-course meal and Eric Kent Wines highlight a dinner at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at Vin’tij, 10859 Emerald Coast Parkway in Miramar Beach.
