Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursdays happen Aug. 8 and 15 at HarborWalk Village kicking off with a Vintage Flyover at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy the music of Modern Eldorados as they rock the HarborWalk Village main stage starting at 7 p.m. After the concert, watch fireworks at 9 p.m. followed by Firespinning.

Wine Social

Pescado Seafood Grill and Rooftop Bar in Rosemary Beach will host a unique and exclusive wine tasting featuring one of only 112 Master Sommeliers in the world, Craig Collins, from 1-3 p.m. Aug. 8. ADSO Window Gallery Display

To provide a convenient Art Gallery for the Community, the Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street SE, presents month-long free exhibits in their studio windows, in Fort Walton Beach. In August, the art on display for easy viewing, “Inspired by Dale Gauvin,” is a collection of art pieces by Dale and the students in his popular Tuesday class. The exhibit covers a wide range of subjects. Dale, a well-known artist who teaches the “Old Masters” and other techniques, paints and exhibits primarily in oils.

Shard & Chardonnay

Enjoy a complimentary glass of Chardonnay while you create a ShardWorx masterpiece at 4:30 p.m. every Friday at The Shard Shop, 34940 Emerald Coast Parkway #114 in Destin and at 4:30 and 6 p.m. Fridays in Grayton Beach at 26 Logan Lane. You are welcome to bring your own beverage of choice.

Family Fun Fest

Join in the free fun Friday nights for Family Fun Fest from 6-10 p.m. at Seascape Towne Centre, located near Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach. Event features live music performances, food and drink specials and kid-friendly activities, including face painting and a live magic show.

Stage Crafters

The second show of the season is Neil Simon's "Rumors." Performances are Aug. 9-11 with showtimes at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium, 109 Miracle Strip Parkway. Autos in August

Side Splitters

The Side Splitters Improv Comedy Show at HarborWalk Theater in HarborWalk Village is at 9 p.m. Aug. 10 and the Side Splitters Stand-Up Comedy Show is at 9 p.m. Aug. 3. Both shows are recommended for mature audiences due to adult language and situations.

Monday Movie Nights

Fat Tuesday Parade

HarborWalk Village transforms into “The Big Easy" with floats, costumes, street performers and more from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Last parade of summer. Trucks ‘N Boats Powerboat Parade

Harborwalk Village plays host to the annual “Trucks N’ Boats” Powerboat Parade from 8-10 p.m. Aug. 14 as Florida Powerboat Club participants take over the streets of Destin. Surrounded by restaurants, shopping and more, locals and visitors come out to see the powerboats as the main attraction of the evening.

Comedy Show: Gather your friends and family, and head to FOOW (Fish Out of Water) for the last installment of its Comedy Show Series, plus a late-night happy hour featuring food and drink specials, from 10 p.m. to midnight Aug. 16 at the WaterColor Inn & Resort, 34 Goldenrod Circle in Santa Rosa Beach. The event is free and open to the public (ages 16+).

Emerald Coast Powerboat Poker Run

Stock the Pantry

Food for Thought's Stock the Pantry Party is open to everyone, not just the participating teams. The Santa Rosa Beach Pantry party will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 with light bites and refreshments while teams deliver their food collected. Entry fee is $5 or five food items.

Bubbly Baytowne

Enjoy an evening full of free champagne and shopping during The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s Bubbly Baytowne from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 22, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17. Dog Days of Summer

Stake and Burger Dinner

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast will host Sixth Annual Stake & Burger at 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Hilton Sandestin. Baytowne Art Walk

The Annual Baytowne Art Walk will be held from 5-10 p.m. Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1. Stroll the Village streets and browse a variety of artwork from both regional and local artists. Enjoy live music throughout the festival from local artists.

Makin’ Bacon 4 Beds

A new event at Destin Commons from 12-4 p.m. Sept. 7, Makin’ Bacon 4 Beds will highlight local eateries and their take on a bacon themed food item. There will be live music by the Hollard Band, an auction with repurposed headboards painted by local artists, craft vendors and a People’s Choice winner. In addition, participants will have a chance to win $10, 000 sponsored by Certainty Home Loans. Samples are only $1, so come out and support a great cause and try them all. All proceeds will benefit A Bed 4 Me Foundation, a local non profit providing beds for children in Okaloosa county who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor or in other inadequate spaces.

Concerts in the Village

Rust & Gold, the most authentic sounding tribute band to Neil Young and Crazy Horse capturing the essence of Neil Young's vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica, and electric sound, performs at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive W in Destin. Bring a bottle of wine, your favorite craft beer, some snacks and a blanket or chair. Food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased at the door with general admission $15 per adult and free to MKAF members and kids under 12.

• Sept. 26: Emerald Coast Blues Brothers enjoy making people smile and having a good time and will arrive in their movie authentic Bluesmobile.

• Oct. 3: Déjà vu delivers a wide range of music from Motown, R&B and classic rock though today's best hits with finesse and energy that leave audiences wanting more.

• Oct. 10: Forrest Williams Band will cover a variety of music, blending an acoustic guitar and harmonica as they take the stage for the concert series finale.

ADSO Artists’ Studios Tour

The Arts and Design Society is hosting a tour of artists’ studios beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the ADSO Art Center, 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach. Participants will be carpooling to five different artists’ studios in the Fort Walton Beach area, where they will meet the artists, see their spaces, and learn how they work in their different mediums. The tour, which includes a light lunch break at one of the studios, will end at ADSO at approximately 3 p.m., when more refreshments and door prizes (art donated by participating artists) will be featured. Cost of the tour is $20/members and $25/non-members, which includes a door prize ticket and refreshments. Since space is limited, reservations must be made and paid for by Sept. 1. International Talk Like a Pirate Davy

Call to Artists: Fine Arts Show

The Arts and Design Society is calling all artists to participate in the upcoming 36th Northwest Florida Fair Fine Arts Show Sept. 24-28, open to all artists, in any medium. Cash awards. Artists must turn in works for the show from 12-5 p.m. Sept. 20 and 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 21. The Fantasticks

Longest-running musical in the world, The Fantasticks will be presented by Emerald Coast Theatre Company Sept, 26 through Oct. 6 at 560 Upstairs at Grand Boulevard. The funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart is for ages 12 and over.

Throwback Thursday Cinema

Grab your lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening with “Tarzan” at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Free.

Golf Cart Drive-In

Join in a nostalgic tradition with a modern twist, a classic drive-in movie for golf carts, at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in October at North Park in Grand Boulevard. Popcorn will be provided. Bring your own beverages. Don’t have a cart? Just bring a blanket or chair.

Wellness Wednesdays

Every Wednesday morning in the month of October. Grand Fitness will host a complimentary 50 minute group fitness class at 9 a.m. in Grand Park at Grand Boulevard.

LIVE@TheREP Concert

Blood is thicker than water and there’s nothing like family creating music together to prove it. With contrasting blood-harmonies and left-handed/right-handed guitar playing, singer-songwriter duo The Talbott Brothers combine rock, blues and pop with honest storytelling. Destin Crafted

Local company Wine World will once again team up with The Henderson Beach Resort & Spa to host an exclusive craft beer and bourbon tasting event raising funds for Children in Crisis from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 9 on the scenic pool deck and lawn at The Henderson. Featured will be hundreds of samples from over 40 renowned small-production breweries and distilleries alongside food from Destin’s favorite eateries with live music entertainment and more. Guests will also have the option to enter a raffle for a grand prize, raising additional funds for the charity. Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market

The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s. Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams. Market is held on Wednesdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
