Stage Crafters holding auditions for musical

Special to GateHouse Media Florida

Auditions have been scheduled for Stage Crafters' upcoming performance of "The Pajama Game."

It’s 1955 and the workers at the Sleep-Time Pajama Factory are demanding a raise of seven and a half cents an hour, but the union’s demands are falling on deaf ears. Meanwhile, a romance is budding between Babe, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the new factory superintendent. Intrigue, romance, jealousy, misunderstandings, and workplace shenanigans all add up to laughs, surprises, and a lot of dancing.

“The Pajama Game” is brimming with songs and dances that have become musical theatre standards, including “Steam Boat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway." From opening curtain to final bows, this show packs toe tapping entertainment into every minute.

Auditions will be held in the Stage Crafters Rehearsal Hall, 40 Robinwood Dr. SW in Fort Walton Beach, from 2-6 p.m. Aug. 25, with scripts available at 1:30. On Aug. 26, auditions will be from 6:30-10 p.m. with scripts available at 6. It is a large all singing, all dancing cast and there are more than 20 parts for both men and women 16 or older.
