Strawberry Festival to highlight downtown Crestview

Spring in Northwest Florida means strawberry season is in full bloom and to celebrate this, the Main Street Crestview Association is putting on a strawberry festival.

“We'll be hosting our second annual Strawberry Festival,” said event coordinator Sandra Wilson. “This year Main Street Crestview has taken the lead role and moved it to West Woodruff Avenue, which is located in Historic Downtown Crestview.”

Wilson said the festival is aimed at bringing life to Crestview’s downtown area, which boasts several unique businesses and restaurants.

“We have a lot of the smaller stores you cannot find in the mall,” Wilson said. “There is a downtown eatery, food trucks, a cupcake store, Casbah Coffee Company, a tattoo shop, a barber shop, and just many unique stores. We were always looking to create a little event to bring people to the historic area. The Strawberry Festival was created to bring visitors, and the season for the strawberries just played along.”

The festival set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. will fill the streets with food, fun and, of course, fresh local strawberries.

“We've handpicked our food vendors and only allow truly handmade and crafted items for sale during the event,” Wilson said. “We will also have live music and kids' activities such as face-painting and balloon-twisting. We will provide entertainment for young and old and, of course, we will have tons of fresh strawberries for sale.”

Vendors at the festival will include wooden crafts, handmade jewelry and soaps and food trucks. The main focus will be the strawberry booth hosted by Brooks Farm of Milton.

“We encourage everyone to come out with the whole family and discover not only all the crafty people in our county but also see all the awesome shops and stores we have in downtown Crestview.”
