Call to local artists for 'Cool-aid' show at the Atrium
The Atrium at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast will be the site of the next Lowkylzart exhibit of local art, and the deadline for submissions is midnight, Aug. 1.
“Cool-Aid” is the name and cool, calming art is the theme. The “show and sell” will benefit Arts in Medicine as 20 percent of all sales will be donated to that cause. There is no entry fee and all accepted work will be displayed Sept. 4 through Oct. 30.

Call to Photographers
The Arts and Design Society is calling all photographers to participate in their upcoming competition, "The 16th Annual Photography and Digital Arts Show," open to all interested photographers. Turn in work Saturday, Aug. 1 and Monday, Aug. 3.

Chorale auditions Tuesday, Aug. 18
The Northwest Florida Symphony Chorale will hold open auditions for vocalists on Tuesday, Aug. 18, beginning at 6 p.m. in Tyler Recital Hall in the music wing of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the Niceville campus of Northwest Florida State College, 100 College Blvd, East.
The Chorale, under the direction of music professor Lois Henry, is a select choral group which performs with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra as well as in independent concerts. In the fall, the group will perform in November featuring Part I of Handel’s Messiah along with works to be announced and will also perform in the mainstage theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center with the NFSO in December for the Holiday Pops concert.

Call to Artists: Black & White Show
The Arts and Design Society is calling all artists to participate in their upcoming Black & White Show. All works, in any medium, must be only in black and white — no other colors allowed.

Call to Artists: Pastel Society
The Pastel Society of North Florida will host a Juried Members' Exhibition Oct. 18 to Dec. 4 at the Northwest Florida State College Goetsch Gallery, Student Services Center, 100 College Blvd. in Niceville. The juror/judge is Cameron Hampton, PSA.
Entries of original pastels must be received by Sept. 4. Digital entries only and submitted on a CD or via email. Notice of acceptance is Sept. 25. Hand-delivered work is due Oct. 15 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The reception will be from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 18 with the awards presentation at 3 p.m.
The entry fee is $25 for PSNF members for up to three entries. You must be a member of the Pastel Society of North Florida to enter. If you wish to join PSNF and obtain a prospectus, visit www.pastelsocietyofnorthflorida.org.
MKAF seeks adult collaborative artists
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) is now accepting applications for the Adult Collaborative Exhibit component of the 20th annual Festival of the Arts Oct. 24-25 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin.
Artwork should be of an artistic caliber associated with a juried fine art show. Artists selected to show in the Adult Collaborative Exhibit can display and/or sell up to three pieces of artwork.
Collaborative artists are in the running for $600 in cash award prizes.
The competition is open to the first 20 eligible applicants and entry fee is $30 per person for up to three pieces of art. The application deadline is Thursday, Sept. 24. To receive an application, contact Deb Nissley at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation at 850-650-2226.
