Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Band opens national season at Mattie Kelly Arts Center

Special to The Log

It’s another season full of hits and an array of fabulous entertainment at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. The national touring season opens with the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Band at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the outdoor amphitheater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.

The band features Jeff Carlisi (38 Special); Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel); Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett and The Blackhearts); Rob Arthur (Peter Frampton) and Jeff Adams (Starship).

“We’re thrilled to open our national season with such a fun event in our amphitheater,” said Jeanette Shires, who noted that Jeff Carlisi, the producer for the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame Band concert, is a Destin resident. “Last year we gave Jeff a tour of our entire complex and he suggested bringing in some of his rock n’ roll friends for a concert. We loved the idea since we’ve not offered something like this before.”

Enjoy a line-up of all time great tunes with the original artists who helped define the hits, including “Still Rock n’ Roll to Me,” “You May Be Right,” “Fooled Around and Fell in Love," “High on You,” “Show Me the Way," “Hold on Loosely," “Caught Up in You," and more.

Tickets for this night of rock under the stars, with the original stars from top-hit bands, are now on sale from the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office by phone, web or in-person for $30 fixed seating and $20 event lawn (bring your own blanket or chair for lawn seating).

No glass containers or alcohol may be brought into the amphitheater, but beer and wine as well as other beverages will be on sale, along with food concessions by a variety of local food vendors. Personal coolers of food or non-alcoholic beverages are permitted.
