Celebrity Server Luncheon

During September, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of clay artist Sherry Cooler and her ADSO students, displaying their works from her Butterfly Box and Clay & Nails classes, in studio windows that face First Street in Fort Walton Beach.

Hurricane Party

Bud & Alley’s will host the 11th Annual Hurricane Party from 6:30-10 p.m. Sept. 25 with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc. (CVHN). Cool-Aid reception

A reception celebrating local artists and the Arts in Medicine program at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 25 in the second floor Atrium. The reception will celebrate the displayed work and allow the community to meet the artists. All artwork is available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.

Oktoberfest

The 21st annual Oktoberfest in Bluewater Bay will be held from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 25 and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 26 at Market Place near Winn-Dixie on Highway 20, Bluewater Bay, Niceville. Event features live music, entertainment for adults and children, arts and crafts, soft drinks, bratwurst, hotdogs, baked chicken and beer. New this year is the Fire Engine Team Pull. All proceeds go to local charities. Free admission.

Watch football games, play outside in great weather, listen to music, and enjoy specials from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 26 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Coconut Radio performs from 5-7 p.m. on the Baytowne LIVE Stage and Robby Walton performs from 7-9 p.m. on the Events Plaza Stage.

Beer Festival

The Fifth Annual Destin Beer Festival features 100+ beers, spirits, food in the culinary tent and live music with The Rips Sept. 26 at Destin Wine World in the Paradise Key Shopping Center. All proceeds from the Beer Fest benefit local charities Children in Crisis and Emerald Coast Autism Center. General admission tickets are $35 and VIP are $50 at www.destinbeerfestival.com.

Hispanic Fest 2015

Live bands, singers, top DJs, delicious food, vendors, folkloric groups, and more will be found at Hispanic Fest 2015 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. Proceeds from the event will benefit United for a Good Cause Inc's 11th Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Needy Children's Fiesta.

Vettes at the Village

Area corvette clubs bring "America's Sports Car" to the Events Plaza at The Village of Baytowne Wharf from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26.

Eggs on the Beach

Ray Lampe, known as Dr. BBQ, will be the featured celebrity guest when Bay Breeze Patio presents the Second Annual Eggs on the Beach BBQ Competition at Seascape Resort Sept. 26. Cook team registration is $50/team of up to four and includes use of a Demo Big Green Egg for grilling. A silent auction, music, kids' activities, and cash bar are part of the event. Taster tickets are on sale, featuring advance pricing of $25/adult, $13/child (age 11-17) and kids 10 and under are free. Call 269-4666.

Kite Festival

An octopus, a panda, a parrot and more will fly high above the harbor at Destin’s Norriego Point from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26-27 as Kitty Hawk Kites hosts its Seventh Annual Flying High on the Harbor Kite Festival. Free shuttle boat service availabale from the HarborWalk Village docks behind Pirates Alley across to Norriego Point. Shuttles will run every 30 minutes. The Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village will also host a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show

The 32nd Northwest Florida Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show, sponsored by the Arts and Design Society and the Northwest Florida Fair Board, takes place from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 3 at C.H. Bull Rigdon Fairgrounds and Recreation Complex (formerly The Northwest Florida Fairgrounds) in Fort Walton Beach. Call 582-1329 for information.

Duck Regatta

The fifth annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta benefiting the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild will be held Oct. 10 at the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin. The event features fun activities for the whole family, including Abrakadoodle face painters, crafts, scavenger hunts, and the Baytowne Carousel for children 12 and under from 11 a.m. to noon. All family events begin at 10 a.m. and the duck race will begin at 1 p.m. at the lagoon. Make a donation of $10 or more to the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild to adopt a duck at the Hospital Gift Shop in Miramar Beach, online at www.emeraldcoastduckregatta.com, or at Baytowne Wharf the day of the event. Adopt one duck/$10, three ducks/$27, six ducks/$50 or 12 ducks/$100. You need not be present to win.

Art exhibition/reception

The Pastel Society of North Florida will have their Members' Exhibition Award Ceremony and Reception from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 18 in the lobby of Goetsch Gallery inside of the Costa Leadership Institute on the third floor of the Student Services Center, Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view Oct. 18-Dec. 4. Cameron Hampton, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and an International Association of Pastel Societies Master Circle Recipient, will be the juror and judge of awards.

Festival of the Arts

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation hosts the 20th annual Festival of the Arts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin. The festival showcases the original artwork of more than 100 artists and features a live music lineup, art activities for kids, souvenir posters and T-shirts, art raffle and more. A food bistro, wine and beer garden as well as convenient parking and motor coach shuttle are also available. Tickets are $5/adults and children under 12 are free. Call 650-2226.

Nighttime Educational Beach Walks

Learn about sea turtles, their nesting habits and other wildlife along the beaches of Okaloosa Island and Destin at 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays through November. Limited to 20 people (ages 6 and older) per walk. The walks are free and include a 30-minute orientation. Reservations are required and may be made at 865-0868 or ECTurtleWatch@gmail.com.
