Wine Women and Shoes to benefit Sinfonia and its educational programs

Put your best foot forward for a great cause with Sinfonia Gulf Coast and Wine Women and Shoes (WWS). As our region’s only fully professional symphony orchestra, Sinfonia is synonymous with presenting high-caliber events and providing much-needed educational initiatives throughout the region. Sinfonia’s WWS events benefit the organization and its music education programs, which include musicians/guest artists in schools, free orchestra concerts, bus transportation for students, Sinfonia Youth Orchestra program, Arts in Medicine initiative with Sacred Heart Hospital and Link Up concerts in partnership with Carnegie Hall.
On Thursday, Jan. 14, at 11:30 a.m., Sinfonia will present a fashion preview “Sole Sisters Lunch” at Bijoux in The Market Shops. Brilliant bling from Destin Jewelers along with fashion courtesy of The Village Boutique, incredible door prizes, and a culinary experience noteworthy of Bijoux executive chef Jack McGuckin, paired with Pip Wines, will highlight the event. Tickets are $65 each and include all food, wine and gratuities.
Sinfonia’s Wine Women and Shoes is honored to welcome 2016 Honorary Vintner Dr. Madaiah Revana, owner of Revana & Corazon Wines. The event weekend will feature multiple Vintner Dinners on Friday, Feb. 19, hosted in elegant homes and venues throughout the region. Some of the world’s best vineyards such as Blackbird, Calluna, Corazon, Dunstan, Eric Kent, Ferrari Sparkling, Mario Perelli Minetti, Revana Wines, Robert Craig, Justin/Landmark, and Tournesol Wines, will be featured. Culinary maestros include national, award-winning chef Nyesha Arrington, Jude Tauzin, executive chef for Louisiana-based Tony Chachere and regional celebrity chefs: Jack McGuckin of Bijoux Destin, Nikhil Abuvala of Roux 30A, Edward Reese of Edward’s Rosemary Beach, and Chris Holbrook of Signature 30A Catering. Tickets are $250 per person and can be reserved online or call the Sinfonia box office.
New to the WWS lineup this year is Bubbles & Blues on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 4-6 p.m. in the Coastal Ballroom of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. Sponsored by Ferrari Sparkling, this new event will feature live music (blues) by Dread Clampitt, along with wine from “Wine Enthusiast” magazine’s “International Winery of the Year” (2016); wine tastings by WWS featured vintners, and tasty bites. Tickets are $25 each.
The Signature Event, “Sip Sip Hooray for Hollywood,” will be on Sunday, Feb. 21, from 2-5 p.m. in the Grand Foyer and Emerald Ballroom at the Hilton Sandestin Beach. Patrons can expect a red-carpet entrance with an extravaganza of fashion, wine and retail (shoes) shopping, silent and live auction, wine tastings, sole mates (shoe guys), mini-performance by members of the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra, live DJ, delectable hors d’oeuvres and a fashion show featuring Off Fifth Saks Fifth Avenue, The Village Boutique and Simply Elegant. “The Men’s Room” returns for the guys and will feature a signature bourbon cocktail, large screen TVs and selections from Harbor Cigars. All-inclusive tickets are $100 for reserved table seating. Complimentary valet parking is included.
