The Market Shops at the entrance to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort presents the free Snowbird Sunday Concert Series with Donnie Sundal of Boukou Groove from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 24 on the lawn. Bring chairs and blankets. In the event of rainy weather, the concert will be relocated to the covered patio outside of Bijoux at The Market Shops.

Greek Luncheon

Saints Markella & Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church will host a Greek Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the church, Hwy. 98 and Bryn Mawr Boulevard. Cost is $9; dine or carry out. Call 244-0822. Pastries will be for sale at additional cost. Event continues until March 31.

Destin Desserts

Six area chefs will create delectable desserts and compete for the title of Destin Desserts Champion at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at The Palms of Destin Resort & Conference Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. All attending the event have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dessert. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.gscfp.org, Shear Twist in Niceville, The Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Destin, and Frillseekers in Destin. Proceeds benefit the Girl Scouts’ Camp Kolomoki.

Act4Murder

Dukes of Dixieland

In a special event concert of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra’s 29th season, the world-famous Dukes of Dixieland from New Orleans will present a Mardi Gras extravaganza of jazz and brass at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 on the Mainstage at Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. Tickets are $37 each and available from the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box office.

Winter Guest Concert Series

Shake off the chills of winter with free live music on HarborWalk Village’s main stage with The Village Belles and David Seering from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 24.

ADSO window display

During January, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of Helen Blair, artist and teacher whose talents cover a wide range of media, in its studio windows that face First Street in Fort Walton Beach.

OAA Wine and food tasting

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Jan. 24, from 2-4 p.m. for a Wine Tasting at The Twisted Grape, 1193 B Eglin Parkway in Shalimar. Annual event offers wine, food by The Twisted Grape, live entertainment and drawings for chances to win tickets to upcoming events. Americana Under The Stars

Bring a chair and a beverage to enjoy the music of Sally Spring at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.

Gumbo contest

Destin History and Fishing Museum hosts its annual gumbo contest and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Destin Community Center on Stahlman Avenue. Local restaurants and individuals compete in two categories, and after judging the gumbo will be sold to the public. Admission to the museum will be free all day.
