'A Symphony of Taste' food and wine festival

Special to The Log/Sun

The Northwest Florida Symphony Guild’s popular annual food and wine tasting festival and Silent Auction “A Symphony of Taste” will be held from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Student Services Center at the Niceville campus of Northwest Florida State College. Food samples from a variety of area restaurants will be available, accompanied by over 50 different wines from around the world, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and a silent auction. Musical entertainment will be provided by local jazz favorite Sean Deitrich. The event also includes a popular Silent Auction.

Proceeds from the event provide underwriting for the professional Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (NFSO) as well as funding for the orchestra's youth music education programs such as the NFSO’s annual performances for all fifth grade pupils in Okaloosa and Walton County, an annual Concerto Competition for young musicians, the NFSO’s Stars of Tomorrow Concerts, and more.

“A Symphony of Taste” tickets are available by phone or web through the college’s Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office, through participating merchants, and at-the-door. Advance tickets are $40 each. At the door tickets are $45 each. Contact the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office at 729-6000 or www.mattiekellyartscenter.org.
