Flag dedication

Wyland will dedicate the World’s Largest American Flag in honor of the United States Armed Services and First responders at 3 p.m. April 13 at Legendary Marina.

Wednesday Night Concert Series

Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free concert under the stars with The Return from 7-9 p.m. April 13 in the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf.

Spring Fling

St. Mary’s annual Spring Fling will be held April 13-17 at the Northwest Florida Fairgrounds. The carnival fundraiser includes rides, games, local food vendors, craft booths and live music. Armbands cost per day is $25.

Sandestin Wine Festival

Four days of unique events open up a wide range of experiences from attending wine dinners, with celebrity chefs participating in preview events throughout the year, and taking part in wine tastings that showcase an unprecedented 800 wines. Exhibit at Destin Library

The Destin Library will showcase the work of local artist Kristina Montvidas Kutkus through May 13. The exhibit, A Retrospective of Art, will highlight the artist’s range of work from oil on canvas to photo-linen paintings.

Americana Under The Stars

Bring a chair and a beverage to enjoy the music of Larry Mangum at 7 p.m. April 14 in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.

Luau

Rocky Bayou Christian School in Destin will host its annual Hawaiian Luau from 3:30-6 p.m. April 15 with live Hawaiian music, various games, bounce houses, a photo booth, and even a horseshoe pit for the older ones. Hawaiian-style meal includes pulled pork, rice, pineapple, rolls and dessert. Admission is free, with cost of meals $5/adults and $3/kids 10 and under.

Heart & Sole

Destin Woman’s Club presents the Heart & Sole Fashion Show and Luncheon April 15 at Marina Café on the harbor. Doors open at 10:45 a.m. for a silent auction and cash bar. Proceeds benefit Fisher House and DWC Family Fund. Tickets are $55 and available at www.destinwomansclub.org.

Military Family Appreciation Day

A fun-filled day of food, music, entertainment and kids’ activities will show our area’s great appreciation for military families and veterans will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 16 at The Landing in Fort Walton Beach. Call 244-8191.

Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” a drama/fantasy, at 3 p.m. April 19 at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.

Kitchenique Cooking School

Chef Jekyll, a private chef in Destin, prepares some of his most popular dishes from 6-8 p.m. April 19 at Kitchenique, 2590 Emerald Coast Parkway, Suite C in Miramar Beach. Cost is $45.

Springtime Celebration

Vicki McCain, Kitchenique Cooking School director, prepares a menu with citrusy, zesty spring recipes from 6-8 p.m. April 21 at Cuvee Catering Center. Cost is $48.

Photography/Digital Arts Exhibition

Opening reception for the Arts and Design Society’s 17th Annual Photography and Digital Arts Show will be from 6-8 p.m. April 22 at 17 First Street SE in Fort Walton Beach. The show begins April 19 and runs through May 20. Gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the reception and the gallery is free and open to the public.

Locals Night Out

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Destin presents Locals Night Out with the music of Jones & Company from 6-9 p.m. every Wednesday in the Courtyard Bar.
