NFB Académie schedules 2016-2017 auditions

The Northwest Florida Ballet Académie will hold auditions from 6-8 p.m. April 30 and from 2:30-4:30 p.m. May 1 for incoming third grade students and from 3:30-5 p.m. April 30 for incom-ing sixth grade stu-dents.

Auditions will be for placement during the 2016-2017 school year and will be held at the North-west Florida Ballet studios in downtown Fort Walton Beach.

The Northwest Florida Ballet Académie is a free, integrated arts and academic program for third through eighth grade boys and girls who demonstrate the potential to excel in dance. Académie students receive concentrated in-struction in ballet as a part of their overall academic and artistic education. Certified elementary and middle school teachers, under the direction of the Okaloosa County School District, su-pervise the academic program. French, art and music are also taught weekly.

Prospective Acadé-mie students and their parents are encouraged to attend a tour event at the ballet studios. Tours are available at 9 a.m. April 26, 6 p.m. April 27 and 9 a.m. April 28 for incoming third grade students and at 9 a.m. April 29 for students entering the sixth grade.
