Soundsations Showchoir Spring Concert

Special to The Log

The Soundsations Showchoir of Northwest Florida State College presents its annual musical variety and dance event at 7:30 p.m. April 28 in the Mainstage Theater of the Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center in Niceville.

Proceeds for the event support the student scholarships. Tickets are available from the center’s Box Office at 850-729-6000 or www.MattieKellyArtsCenter.org. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth age 18 and younger. NWF State College students may request one free ticket per student ID. Tickets may also be purchased at the door starting at 6 p.m. The theater doors open at 7 p.m. for open seating selection.

The Soundsations concert features an evening of easy-listening music ranging from John Miles to Earth, Wind & Fire and from Carole King to Beyoncé. This glittering show of favorite pop classics will have you singing in your seats, tapping your toes and is sure to send you out the door with a song in your heart.

The popular Showchoir is comprised of scholarship vocal, instrumental and dance students who are selected by stringent auditions. The group has been praised locally as “better than a Vegas or Broadway show” and performs internationally as part of the region’s Sister City.

The Soundsations and the college’s dance ensemble, the Raider Rhythms, are groups comprised of scholarship students who attend NWFSC. Those interested in performing with the groups in the 2016-2017 academic year should review the scholarship auditions information on the college website or contact the Fine & Performing Arts Division at 729-5382.
