Auditions: 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'
Open auditions for the Northwest Florida State College summer musical production of the farce "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" will be held May 2 in the Art wing, building 110, Room 328, of the Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center on the Niceville campus. Sign-in will be at 6 p.m. and auditions will begin at 6:30 p.m. For information or an audition packet, contact the Fine Arts Division Office at 729-5382.
A free audition workshop, to help both students and community members better prepare themselves for the auditions, will be held Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. in the same room/building.
Call to Artists: Okaloosa Arts & Culture Fest
The Okaloosa Arts Alliance has issued a call for artists and crafters for the annual Okaloosa Arts & Culture Fest which will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21 at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. The annual event features dozens of local artisans and craft vendors, food and beverages, live music and art performances. Free family activities, a silent auction will help raise funds for OAA and the Okaloosa County School Poster contest entries will be on display. OAA poster contest
Any Okaloosa County School student can enter the Seventh Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest. Entries can be submitted by an Okaloosa County School or by an individual student.
The poster contest deadline has been extended to May 6. Please submit only one entry per student. Posters should be standard size (8 ½ x 11) for the contest and should include the name of the artist, their grade, and the name of their school. Please mail your entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32549. If you prefer you can drop off your entry at the Arts & Design Society, 17 1st St SE in Fort Walton Beach or at HH Arts, 100 Beal Parkway S. in Fort Walton Beach.
The winners of the poster contest will be announced at the Okaloosa Arts & Culture Fest May 21.
