Wednesday Night Concert Series
Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free concert under the stars with Josh Garrett from 7-9 p.m. May 11 at the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf.
Americana Under The Stars
Bring a chair and a beverage to enjoy the music of Brian Smalley at 7 p.m. May 12 in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.
Concerts in the Village
Enjoy the music of the Moos Bros. at the 21st annual Concerts in the Village at 7 p.m. May 12 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive West in Destin. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, picnic and wine or purchase soft drinks and dinner prepared by a featured restaurant or food trucks on site. Admission is $12/adults; children (12 and under) and MKAF members are free.
Act4Murder
Act4Murder presents “Peace, Love ... and Murder” at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at Twisted Grape, 1193 Eglin Parkway in Shalimar. Seating at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45. Call 862-2885.
Pirate Dinner & Movie
Have a swashbucklin’ evening of fun beginning at 6 p.m. Fridays at the Sandestin Pirate Dinner at Baytowne Marina. Enjoy pirate inspired cuisine, a pirate show, live music, a bonfire and much more for the little buccaneers. After enjoying the music, food and fun, enjoy a family friendly showing of “Pirates of the Caribbean” on the big screen under the stars. ADSO window display
During May, The Arts and Design Society presents the works Art Orr, who will display oil and acrylic paintings, colored pencil drawings and birdhouse sculptures, the latter including mixed media involving wood, sand and oil paint. Display will be in the studio windows at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street, SE, that face First Street in Fort Walton Beach.
Northwest Fest
Northwest Florida State College and the Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce present a new event, Northwest Fest, at 6 p.m. May 12. Featured are locally-based bands Heritage, The Rips and The Okaloosa Sound performing under the stars at the college’s 2,500 capacity outdoor amphitheater on the Niceville campus. Chris Janson Concert

Exhibit at Destin Library
The Destin Library will showcase the work of local artist Kristina Montvidas Kutkus through May 13. The exhibit, A Retrospective of Art, will highlight the artist’s range of work from oil on canvas to photo-linen paintings.
Gallery Display
HH Arts will feature award winning artist Jim Eustace and his photography and paintings during the month of May. A reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. May 13 at 100 Beal Parkway SW in Fort Walton Beach.
Stars of Tomorrow
The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra concludes its 29th year at 7:30 p.m. May 13 with its popular family-friendly Stars of Tomorrow concert in the Mainstage Theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. The 2016 Stars of Tomorrow-Meet Beethoven concert features the winners of the NFSO Guild sponsored Concerto Competition along with Beethoven’s magnificent “Symphony No. 3 Eroica.” Tickets are $25/adult, $18/youth ages 18 and younger, and $18/active Duty Military. Pirates on the Bay Poker Run
The family friendly Poker Run is open to any and all boats, even jet skis and pontoons, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14. The Captain’s Party will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 13 at Legendary Yacht Club, with an After Party from 2-5 p.m. at LuLu’s Destin. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and Best Pirate’s Costumes and Themed Boats. Entry fee per boat is $100 and includes both parties and Poker Run. Artists For Advocacy
Beulah Belle Designs will host Artists For Advocacy from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 14 at The Beach House in Sandestin with live entertainment and beach views. Twenty local artists will sell their art work, along with vendors showing their jewelry, skin care supplements and hand-painted shoes. No ticket purchase is necessary, but donations are appreciated. A portion of the sales proceeds will benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center. Call 687-0175.
Starving Artists Sale
The Arts and Design Society’s second annual Starving Artists Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 at 17 First Street SE in Fort Walton Beach. ADSO artists will sell their art and/or new or gently used artists materials or books that they no longer need.
Independent Film Series
The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a screening of the film “Locke,” a drama, at 3 p.m. May 17 at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.
