Concerts in the Village — 

Enjoy the music of Emerald Gold and a Motown revue at the 21st annual Concerts in the Village at 7 p.m. May 19 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive West in Destin. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, picnic and wine or purchase soft drinks and dinner prepared by a featured restaurant or food trucks on site. Admission is $12/adults; children (12 and under) and MKAF members are free.

Nashville Songwriters Florida Sunshine Tour

Songwriters Earl Bud Lee and Tommy Barnes will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. May 18 on the main stage at HarborWalk Village.

Wednesday Night Concert Series

Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free concert under the stars with Forrest Williams from 7-9 p.m. May 18 in the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf.

Americana Under The Stars

Bring a chair and a beverage to enjoy the music of Lucky Mud at 7 p.m. May 19 in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.

Pirate Dinner & Movie

Have a swashbucklin’ evening of fun beginning at 6 p.m. Fridays at the Sandestin Pirate Dinner at Baytowne Marina. Enjoy pirate inspired cuisine, a pirate show, live music, a bonfire and much more for the little buccaneers. ADSO window display

During May, The Arts and Design Society presents the works Art Orr, who will display oil and acrylic paintings, colored pencil drawings and birdhouse sculptures, the latter including mixed media involving wood, sand and oil paint. Display will be in the studio windows at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street SE in Fort Walton Beach.

Concerts at The Landing

First responder fundraiser

Support Destin’s first responders and eat, drink and sing from 4-9 p.m. May 20 at the first Buck’s Blues & BBQ Fire & Blue at Destin Harbor public parking, corner of U.S. 98 and Marler Street. Live blues music with Ron Adams and Lil Jimmy Reed. All proceeds go to Destin Fire and Sheriff’s Office.

Little Black Dress Party

The seventh annual Little Black Dress Party, A Night at the Opera, will be May 21 at the Sandestin Beach Resort. The event will feature dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and live entertainment. Tickets and sponsorships are available.

Guest Artist Piano Recital

Renowned Grammy-nominated concert pianist Michael Lewin of Boston will appear in a solo piano recital at 7:30 p.m. May 21 in the Tyler Recital Hall at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center of NWFSC in Niceville. Okaloosa Arts & Culture Fest

The Okaloosa Arts Alliance hosts the annual Okaloosa Arts & Culture Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21 at the Fort Walton Beach Landing on Brooks Street. This free family-fun arts event features dozens of local artisans and craft vendors, food and beverages, family arts activities, live music and art performances. Live entertainment will include Emerald Coast Pipes & Drums, Brite Starz, Highsteppers, Pyramid Players and more. A silent auction will help raise funds for OAA and include donations from Newman-Dailey Resorts, Painting with A Twist, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, The Track, Southern Vacation Rentals and more.

Destin Harbor Hop

For a $5 donation to Food For Thought, guests will hop to three of the harbor’s restaurants on a complimentary shuttle provided by Sunshine Shuttle and Limousine on May 22. Each stop will include live music, food and drink specials.

Watch the free movie “Stuart Little” at 8 p.m. May 22 under the stars on the Events Plaza Stage at Baytowne Wharf.

Art exhibitions

The Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville will host two new exhibitions May 23 to July 16 in the McIlroy and Holzhauer Galleries, in the Art Wing of the arts complex — Mary Anne Mitchell’s, Meet Me in my Dreams, and Unshackled Vision: Salvador Dali.

The exhibitions are both free of charge and the galleries are open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 90 minutes prior to all performances in the center’s Mainstage Theater. Call 850-729-6044 for information or to request a guided tour.
