Flags will fly at a Memorial Day Ceremony presented by the American Legion at 11 a.m. May 30 at the Destin Memorial Cemetery, 111 Stahlman Ave. All are invited. For more information, call the Des-tin Community Center 654-5184.

A holiday for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces, Memo-rial day will be celebrated in Destin with a service at the cemetery, music, and fireworks.

1. Memorial Day Concert

Kick-off summer with live music at HarborWalk Village at 7 p.m. May 28 with Rumours ATL and at 5 p.m. May 29 with Flash Flood and 7 p.m. with Departure. Fireworks follow.

2. Memorial Day Celebration

Patriotic festivities at The Village of Baytowne Wharf include the music of The Modern Eldorados from 7-9 p.m. May 28 on the Events Plaza Stage. From 6-9 p.m. May 29, there will be kid’s activities, the music of Coconut Radio and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. over the lagoon. On May 30 at 7 p.m. Sandestin veterans will present a Memorial Day program.

3. Sinfonia Goes Pops

The Alys Foundation welcomes back Sinfonia Gulf Coast for the sixth annual concert under the palms at 7:30 p.m. May 29 in the Amphitheatre. The concert is family friendly and free to the community and will feature patriotic medleys, movie soundtracks, light classics, and more. The concert ends with a “Stars & Stripes” fireworks finale. Food vendors and cash bar will be available. Bring low back chairs for comfortable seating.
