'More than a Bionic Woman' — An Evening With Lindsay Wagner

Special to The Log

For one night only, Emmy award-winning actress Lindsay Wagner comes to the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Oka-loosa Island from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 26 for a fun and unique trip down memory lane.

“More than a Bionic Woman" — An Evening with Lindsay Wagner promises to be a night of heart-warming and hilarious anecdotes from a career spanning over four decades by one of the world's most popular actresses.

“I had seen a couple of other performers do an 'Evening With' type show and really enjoyed it,” said Wagner. “However I must confess it was the badgering of a good friend that actually got me to do it and I found myself enjoying the format. I'll be sharing anecdotes and stories from behind the scenes in my career, showing clips and photos from my personal collection, and I also take a few questions from the audience. It's really a lot of fun.”

Wagner first came to prominence in the critically acclaimed role of Susan Fields in the Oscar-winning movie The Paper Chase, but she received worldwide recognition when she broke the mold for women on television with her iconic portrayal of Jaime Sommers. As she collaborated with the writers, “The Bionic Woman” became an inspiration around the world and in 1977 Lindsay won the Emmy for “Best Actress in a Dramatic Role."

Upon completion of the hit series, Wagner went on to become the Queen of television movies with more than 40 TV mov-ies, five mini-series and several feature films and specials, and established a permanent place in the hearts of audiences around the world as one of the most popular actresses in international television.

Whether you have loved her since The Bionic Woman, were moved by one of her TV movies or just caught her recently in the number one drama series NCIS, it is very unlikely that this icon of television hasn't captured your heart at some point dur-ing her wonderful career.

“I'm looking forward to coming back to Florida. In my previous trips everyone has always been so welcoming.”

Don't miss this entertaining and candid multi-media self-portrait, during which she provides a rare and unique insight into the life of an internationally-renowned Hollywood actress, including questions from the audience. A truly memorable experi-ence for everyone.

While in Florida, Wagner will also offer an acting master class from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 28, also at the Emerald Coast Convention Center. This four-hour class provides you with an amazing opportunity to learn from an experienced professional and is designed for beginning actors as well as experienced actors who would like to refine their craft.
