Concerts in the Village

Enjoy the music of Faithfully: Journey Tribute Band at the 21st annual Concerts in the Village at 7 p.m. June 9 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive West in Destin. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, picnic and wine or purchase soft drinks and dinner prepared by a featured restaurant or food trucks on site. Admission is $12/adults; children (12 and under) and MKAF members are free.

Calendar Show

Opening reception for the Arts and Design Society's show "Just Say It!,” the ADSO Members' Calendar Show, is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. June 10 at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach. The show runs through July 1. Gallery hours are 12-4 pm, Tuesday-Friday, and 1-4 pm, Saturday. Admission is free.

Fat Tuesday Parade

Who wants some beads?! Join in Fat Tuesday as HarborWalk Village transforms into “The Big Easy” on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. It’s one Pardi in Paradise where you can enjoy dazzling floats, beads and lots of swag during a free parade through HarborWalk Village.

Anna Moo concert

The Destin Library will present a free concert with Anna Moo at 3 p.m. June 14 in the library’s Calhoun Room. The concert is in conjunction with this summers’ Reading Program: On Your Mark, Get Set … READ! Pre-registrations are required and will be available beginning May 27. Call at 837-8572.

Sandestin Luau

In addition to free concerts and movies, Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin also offers free events on three other nights in the Events Plaza.

• Hydro Flight Monday: Enjoy three shows over the lagoon by fly-board extraordinaire Ben Merrell at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. through Aug. 13.

• Boomin' Tuesday: Enjoy lawn games, inflatables, and kids activities from 7-9 p.m. through Aug. 11 with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

• Magical Thursday: Captain Davy performs from 7-9 p.m. through Aug. 13.

Nighttime Educational Beach Walks

Learn about sea turtles, their nesting habits and other wildlife along the beaches of Okaloosa Island and Destin at 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays through November. Limited to 20 people, ages 6 and older, per walk. The walks are free and include a 30-minute orientation. Reservations are required and may be made at 865-0868 or ECTurtleWatch@gmail.com.

Bart Rockett Magic Show

ADSO window display

During June, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of Robert “Reg” Moore, who will display acrylic paintings and graphite drawings, in the studio windows at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street, SE, that face First Street in Fort Walton Beach.

Art Walk

The Fort Walton Beach Art Walk is held the 1st Friday of every month until November. It features local arts in all sorts of mediums. There is something for everyone from an array of local art, jewelry and many other handmade creations.

Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, "A Most Wanted Man," crime, drama, thriller, at 3 p.m. June 21 at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.

Fourth Celebration/Bike Parade/Concert

The City of Destin will host its Annual Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 1, at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. The event welcomes the entire family with fun activities for children of all ages. The Bike Parade will start the celebration at 6 p.m. Children 14 and under are asked to decorate their bike, scooter or wagon patriotically. Awards will be given for different categories and ages. Check-in will begin at 5:30 p.m. next to the informational tent. Following the parade will be live music by local artist Chuck Lawson, games, moonwalks, face painting, and much more. Locals Night Out
