Nashville-based country music songwriters Shane Minor and Phil “Philbilly” O'Donnell will perform at Bud & Alley's, 2236 East County Highway 30A in Seaside at 8 p.m. Aug. 9. They will be at the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village in Destin Aug. 10 and The Bay Restaurant, 24215 Hwy. 331 South in Santa Rosa Beach, Aug. 11. At 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12, the performers will be at the Hub, 7000 East County Road 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. The tour is free and open to the public.

Smooth Jazz and Jingle Bells

Wednesday Night Concert Series

Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free concert under the stars with Raquel Lily from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 3 in the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf.

LuLu’s Bay Bash Concerts

Come by boat, float, paddle or car and enjoy LuLu’s Bay Bash Weekend Concert Series featuring live entertainment from atop the Bay Bar. Lively music will spill out over LuLu’s white sandy beach and the Choctawhatchee Bay from 12-4 p.m. Aug. 5-7.

Red, White and Blue Celebration

The celebration at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at HarborWalk Village highlights the efforts of those who go above and beyond to better their community. Enjoy live entertainment with The Deja Vu Band, face painting, WWII vintage North American T-6 Texan airshow, free kid’s crafts a fireworks show over the harbor and fire dancing with Just Add Fire at 9 p.m. Held every Thursday.

Movies at the Landing

Grab your blankets and chairs and enjoy a fun night under the stars at 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Fort Walton Beach Landing Park for fun trivia and prizes. Movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” starts at dark with concessions available for purchase. This is a free family event — bring the kids and your furry friends.

Public sky viewing

Henderson Beach State Park will host a public sky viewing from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 5. Attendees must enter the park prior to 7:30 in order to attend. Volunteers from the NWF Astronomy Association will set up several telescopes for safe viewing of the sun and stars for all ages.

Lakebottom Proper

Stage Crafters presents the wacky and hilarious Southern fried farce Lakebottom Proper Aug. 5-7 and 12-14 at Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium, 107 Miracle Strip Parkway SW. Show begins at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at PS Gifts in Fort Walton Beach, Bayou Books in Niceville, or www.stagecrafterstickets.com. Shades of Blue

Opening reception for the Arts and Design Society’s “Shades of Blue” will be from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach. The exhibition features works that are in shades of blue — no other color. The show runs through Aug. 26. Admission to the reception and the gallery is free and open to the public. The Fort Walton Beach Art Walk will be held Aug. 5 and features local arts in all sorts of mediums. There is something for everyone from an array of local art, jewelry and many other handmade creations.

Dive-In Movie — New Location

Have a boat, Jet Ski, kayak, paddle board or pontoon? Then don’t miss the dive-in movie at sundown Aug. 6 on the water behind Legendary and LuLu's. The movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be shown on a big floating blow-up screen. For more information, call Legendary Marine at 337-8300.
