3 THINGS TO DO This Week Sept. 7

The Destin Log
The dolphins seem to know when the boats are looking for them and put on their best show.

Dolphins are known for their agility and playful behavior, and watching them leap out of the water, spy-hop (rise vertically out of the water to view their surroundings) and follow ships is fun for all ages. Dolphin cruises in Destin are popular no matter what season it is.

1. Hannah Marie

Family owned and operated, the Hannah Marie heads out on dolphin cruises morning, noon or sunset, depending on the season. The 90 minute narrated cruise takes you through the harbor, the East Pass into the Gulf and even into the Bay. Watch dolphins play in their natural habitat, take a look through the glass bottom viewing area or have a light snack/beverage at the concession stand.

2. Sea Blaster

Hop on board Destin’s original Sea Blaster with Capt. Larry, who has been entertaining families since 1995. Board the 73-foot custom-built boats, approved to carry 119 and 132 passengers, at HarborWalk Village and begin the search for wild dolphins. Complimentary beer, wine, water and sodas are served on the tours.

3. Southern Star Dolphin Cruises

“Expect a Miracle” as you view the dolphins, seabirds and other marine life during a two-hour cruise aboard the Southern Star. The 80-foot vessel holds 149 passengers and has a covered upper deck and snack bar. The narrated tour begins in the Destin harbor before entering the Gulf and the Choctawhatchee Bay.
