Hispanic Fest

A family-oriented, cultural and educational festival that showcases the best of Hispanic folklore, music and food, Hispanic Fest 2016 will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. The fashion show, a presentation of Tallahassee's Theater with a Mission, and kids activities in the Happy World Kids' Zone, highlight the day. Proceeds benefit the 12th annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Needy Children's Fiesta.

Wednesday Night Concert Series

Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a free concert under the stars with Biscuit Miller from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf.

Art of Giving

The fourth annual Art of Giving, presented by Porath & Associates, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Churchill Oaks in Santa Rosa Beach. This year, Food For Thought is switching it up and turning the event over to the kids for the Art of Giving — Kids Art Edition. Four local schools, Ohana Institute, Northwest Florida Ballet, Seaside Neighborhood School, and Noah’s Ark Preschool, have partnered with local artists, and this year the students will auction off their pieces to help raise funds to fight child hunger. Destin Harbor Hop

For a $5 donation to Food For Thought, guests will hop to three of the harbor’s most esteemed restaurants on a complimentary shuttle provided by Sunshine Shuttle and Limousine from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 18. Each stop will include live music, food and drink specials.

Gameday 5K

The inaugural Sandestin Foundation for Kids Gameday 5K begins at 9 a.m. Sept. 17 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The race includes a 5K for all ages and 1 mile fun run for kids 12 and under throughout Sandestin. Cost is $35/5k and $20/1 mile fun run. Post-race tailgate fun will be at Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina, with corn hole, bounce house, face painting, hot dogs, silent auction items and the college football game of the day live on the jumbo screen. Proceeds benefit Sandestin Foundation for Kids.

Watch your favorite football teams, play outside in great weather, listen to great music and enjoy specials from 5-9 p.m. Sept. 17 and 24 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf on the Events Plaza Stage and Baytowne LIVE Stage. Wear your school colors for special discounts at featured merchants.

Flying High on the Harbor Kite Festival

Join Kitty Hawk Kites and the Emerald Coast Kite Fliers Club for larger-than-life show kites, professional stunt kite flying demonstrations, free kite flying lessons, a family fun fly perfect for any age, and special activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 17-18 over the harbor at Destin’s Norriego Point. ADSO window display

During September, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of Ann Tucker in the studio windows at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street SE in Fort Walton Beach.

Marla Armstrong exhibit

The Destin Library will showcase the work of Niceville artist Marla Armstrong through Sept. 30. The exhibit will highlight the artist’s range of work in the media of watercolor and acrylics. As a member of the Arts and Design Society of Fort Walton Beach, her paintings and photography have won ADSO awards and have been on display at various shows in the southeast.

3D gallery show

Smooth Jazz and Jingle Bells

Tickets are on sale for "A Peter White Christmas," the annual smooth jazz holiday show set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, "Arbitrage," drama, thriller, at 3 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.

Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market

The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s. Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams.

Locals Night Out

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse Destin presents Locals Night Out with the music of Jones & Company from 6-9 p.m. every Wednesday in the Courtyard Bar.

Nighttime Educational Beach Walks

Learn about sea turtles, their nesting habits and other wildlife along the beaches of Okaloosa Island and Destin at 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays through November.
