Destin Commons will host its first Destin Charity Cornhole Tournament competition at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 along the Center’s South Street expansion area between World of Beer and H&M. The proceeds will benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Centers (ECCAC) in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.

Teams of any age can sign up to participate and spectators are encouraged to come out and watch the widely popular cornhole sporting event. The cost is $100 per team of two for the double elimination tournament.

Entries include swag bags, a T-shirt and a $500 cash prize to the winning team and trophies to the top three. Each team member will receive a wrist band that will give them entry to the Beer Garden sponsored by World of Beer, complete with free bottomless beer, Bloody Mary’s, mimosas and snacks. The public can buy Spectator Beer Garden wrist bands for $25.

There will also be a unique fund raising raffle of five cornhole board sets that will be creatively custom painted by local artists to benefit ECCAC. Operating centers in Okaloosa and Walton counties, ECCAC’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, protect children, and restore the lives and futures of these impacted children.

The tournament is limited to 50 teams. Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible. To enter a team online, go to www.eccac.org or contact Chelsea Fox at chelsea@eccac.org or 850-833-9237, ext. 256.
