Act4 Murder

Lagunitas Craft Beer Dinner

Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival: Time to roll out the barrel and discover unique suds and ales at the Ninth Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival Oct. 14-15 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin. The main event on Saturday will feature more than 200 domestic and international craft beers available for sampling. Guest artist

A guest artist piano recital by Yejin Lee of Korea will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Tyler Recital Hall at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. Lee has competed and claimed top awards in numerous prestigious national and international competitions, and she is currently pursing a doctorate in piano at the Peabody Institute. ADSO window display

During October, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of award-winning artist Mike Lewis in the studio windows at The Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach.

Fish the Days, Rock the Nights

After fishing at the Rodeo, enjoy free live music with The Bayou Saints at HarborWalk Village at 7 p.m. Oct. 15. A fireworks celebration over the harbor at 9 p.m. plus a fire spinning show by Just Add Water ends the night.

Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, "The Straight Story," at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Destin Library. The drama-biography, chronicles a trip made by 73-year-old Alvin Straight from Laurens, Iowa, to Mt. Zion, Wis., in 1994 while riding a lawn mower. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.

Pastel Society Exhibition

The Pastel Society of North Florida will have their National Juried Exhibition Oct. 9 to Nov. 18 at the Mattie Kelly Fine Art Galleries at NWFSC. The opening reception and award ceremony will be from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 9. A free demo by Lyn Asselta, judge of the exhibition, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 8 at the Bayou Arts Center, Hogtown Bayou, in Santa Rosa Beach.

Mayhem at the Monster Bash

The Halloween costume party murder mystery by Act4 Murder will be presented at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at The Twisted Grape, 1193 B. Life's a Beach Show exhibition

The Arts and Design Society's exhibition of the Life's a Beach Publications' annual cover competition featuring colorful paintings reflecting the beach environment will run from Oct. 25-nov. 4 at 17 First Street in Fort Walton Beach. Pink Party

Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer and Jackacudas Seafood + Sushi in Destin invite the community, loyal patrons and guests to the Pink Party from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 27 at Jackacudas in HarborWalk Village. 100% of proceeds will go to Carrie Bair, a tenured employee and pivotal part of the of Jackacudas family recently diagnosed with stage 1 Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Spooktacular BooLu's: The second annual Spooktacular BooLu's Fun Family event kicks off the free fun at 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at Lulu's in Destin with pumpkin painting, trunk or treat, arts and crafts, movie showing of Beetlejuice and much more. Bring your little goblins dressed in costume for the costume contest. Register by 5 p.m. Numerous local businesses, charities and first responders will have decorated trunks in front of the restaurant for a fun Trunk or Treat.

Festival of the Arts

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation presents the 21st Annual Festival of the Arts on Oct. 29-30 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin. One of the Southeast’s premier festivals, the event showcases the original artwork of more than 100 artists from across the U.S. who will compete for $10,000 in cash award prizes. Festival features include a food bistro, wine and beer garden, live music, art activities for kids, souvenir posters and T-shirts, art drawing and more. Free shuttle service and parking is also available. Admission is free to MKAF members and children 12 and under, and $5 for adult/non-members.

Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival

The Ninth Annual Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival takes off from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5. HarborWalk Village is firing up the grills for a cook-off competition of seafood, traditional and original spins of your favorite BBQ recipes. Sip finely crafted bourbons and ice-cold brews as you taste creative BBQ from local restaurants. Restaurants compete in this contest for People's Choice Award and try to win over the taste buds of local celebrity judges. Cook-off winnings benefit local charities of winning restaurants choice. Jerry Seinfield on stage

America's premier comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, will perform his signature stand-up routine at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. Smooth Jazz and Jingle Bells

Tickets are on sale for "A Peter White Christmas," the annual smooth jazz holiday show set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. Locals Night Out

Nighttime Educational Beach Walks

Learn about sea turtles, their nesting habits and other wildlife along the beaches of Okaloosa Island and Destin at 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays through November.
