NWFSC to hold auditions

Northwest Florida State College will hold open auditions for two productions to be presented in repertory the week of March 6-12 — Carlo Goldoni’s "The Servant of Two Masters" and John Pielmeier’s "Agnes of God," both directed by Clint Mahle.

Auditions will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Sprint Theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the Niceville campus. Sign-in starts at 1:30 p.m. The director asks for a 90 second prepared audition consisting of two short monologues, one dramatic and one comedic. The comedic monologue should make use of a broad physical style. Auditions will be private with the director and stage manager.

Callbacks, by appointment, may be held after the initial round if needed. "Agnes of God" is a women only cast. Both men and women, however, will be cast in "The Servant of Two Masters." For more information, contact Clint Mahle at 850-729-6007 or mahlej@nwfsc.edu.

Sinfonia seeks volunteers

Kick up your heels (and helping hands) for a great cause. Sinfonia Gulf Coast is seeking volunteers for the fifth annual Wine Women & Shoes being held in Miramar Beach and throughout the Emerald Coast.

The multi-day event launches Jan. 12 with a Sole Sister Kick Off Lunch and Fashion Preview. The three-day signature weekend event begins on Friday, Feb. 17, with Vintner dinners and continues Saturday, Feb. 18, with Bubbles, Brews & Culinary Qs and the final Wine Women & Shoes signature event is Sunday, Feb. 19. Volunteer opportunities are available now leading up to and then during each event.

Volunteer captains are needed to lead teams to work various shifts during each portion of the four-day event. Volunteer duties include a range of responsibilities, both in front of house and behind the scenes including set up/break down, check-in, greeting, soliciting silent and live auction items, sorting wines, coordinating models, vendors and volunteers and more.

Opportunities are available for students looking to donate their time in exchange for community service hours.

For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact Elaine Tucker, director of operations and events, at 850-460-8800 or etucker@sinfoniagulfcoast.org.
