Walkabout fundraiser to support MKAF

Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Silver Shells Resort in Destin will host its fourth annual Fall Wine Walkabout to benefit Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s cultural arts and arts education initiatives from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the East Bar and Courtyard. Michael J Thomas and Jones and Company will perform. Patrons can enter a charity raffle to win vacation packages around the country. Tickets are $50/person or $40/MKAF members and available at www.MattieKellyArtsFoundation.org. All proceeds will fund MKAF’s dual mission of presenting cultural events and arts education outreach initiatives serving populations of children and families, including those with special needs and local wounded warriors.

Lip Sync Battle

The Emerald Coast Theatre Company presents the second annual Lip Sync Battle, a non-singing competition that invites everyone to be a star, Nov. 10 at the new ECTC theater space, 560 Grand Boulevard. Local celebrity judges, Steve Barber, Cory Davis, Zandra Wolfgram and Chelsea Nightly, will pick the best of the best. The evening will be complete with a cash bar, music, dance and fun. Those performers who bring the biggest crew will rack up audience participation points by voting with dollars. During November, The Arts and Design Society presents the works of award-winning artist Marcy Eady, who turns out remarkable works in clay, in acrylic, and in portraits, all usually impressionistic. 9 to 5 the Musical

Stage Crafters Community Theatre presents its final show of the season Nov. 11-13 at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium on Miracle Strip Parkway. Jerry Seinfield on stage

America's premier comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, will perform his signature stand-up routine at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. Tickets are on sale at www.MattieKellyArtsCenter.org or at 729-6000. Seinfeld has been hailed for his uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere.

Symphony Sunday

The first ever Symphony Sunday concert will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. The “Music, Movement & the Royal Instrument” matinee concert premieres a new original composition by music professor and composer Dr. Jeremy Ribando, commissioned to celebrate the NFSO’s 30th anniversary.

The new ballet will feature dancers from the college’s dance program accompanied by the orchestra. The concert also includes Saint Saëns Organ Symphony played by music professor Lois Henry.

Arts and Crafts Christmas Market

The Arts & Design Society's members host their annual Arts and Crafts Christmas Market from Nov. 14 through Dec. 17 at the Art Center, 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach. Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie drama, "One True Thing," at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public. Directed toward a mature audience.

Pastel Society Exhibition

The Pastel Society of North Florida will have their National Juried Exhibition through Nov. 18 at the Mattie Kelly Fine Art Galleries at NWFSC.

The Nutcracker

The Northwest Florida Ballet presents the 37th annual production of The Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. This season's production also includes the debut of the Northwest Florida Ballet Symphony Orchestra led by David Ott. Box office priced tickets are $38/adults and $18/children 12 and under. Smooth Jazz and Jingle Bells
